My good friend and fellow blogger Tara of the Geeky Hostess threw a “Galentine’s Day” party this past weekend – a day to celebrate your favorite gals, wear pink, eat waffles and exchange presents. It’s also a day to remember how great of a show Parks and Rec is, as Leslie Knope first coined the idea for this kind of a party.

We did a secret gift exchange (I got Pinkie Pie heart shaped mints and earrings and a big floppy pink bow), caught up on girl talk with “Table Talk” conversation starters, drank mimosas and rocked a little impromptu photo shoot on the photo wall Tara provided.

It was a fun and relaxing morning with great gals and I just wish we made time to do stuff like this more often! I highly encourage you to make time for the important females in your life this Valentine’s Day.

I wore a hot pink dress I found at Ross for $6, polka dot socks and pink tights from Target and my favorite heeled boots from Cathy Jean.

That sounds so fun! I kind of dislike valentine’s day, but this might change my mind 🙂 A much better way to celebrate!

Cassidy says:

When i first saw the title, I read it as gale- instead of gal-. I got really excited for a hunger games themed Valentines day. Still, this is a great idea! I kind of dislike how Valentines day is always about boyfriends and girlfriends. Valentines day is a holiday of love, and there are so many people other than boyfriends or girlfriends who deserve to be celebrated. I feel like mostly everyone forgets this 🙁
Your outfit is adorable!
