Writing Videos

Hello! I make a lot of different kinds of videos, but I tend to talk about writing quite a bit. Since I have completed NaNoWriMo successfully every year since 2006, I’ve got quite the backlog of pep talk videos, progress videos, and more.

Here’s a one-stop shop for all of my very best videos on writing!

To see all of my videos over on YouTube, go here.

Probably my most well-known writing related video is my NaNoWriMo music video. This video was created in 2011, but the song itself has been around even longer.

NaNoWriMo Pep talks:

This is my most recent NaNoWriMo pep talk video, from 2016. This is probably a good place to start.

In 2014 I took a bit of an unconventional approach and verbally called out actual people who in the previous year claimed they would do NaNoWriMo “next year”. This video was one of my favorites and people seemed to respond well to it. I imagine people were much more cautious about what they left in my comments after that, heh.

This was the actual pep talk I posted in 2014.

This is my 2013 pep talk video that breaks down 5 ways to get your novel written.

This is the pep talk I posted in 2010 about how writers are superheroes.

Writing a Book in a month videos:

This was the very first time I decided to film a little bit of every day in November (in 2012). This very quickly became a tradition that people seemed to really love.

Writing a novel every day in 2013.

Writing a novel every day in 2014.

Writing a novel every day in 2015.

Writing a novel every day in 2016.

And that one time I attempted Camp NaNo in April and failed.

Other videos:

I’ve dabbled in other sorts of writing videos as well. Here are a few outliers.

This is the NaNoWriMo tag video I made one year.

This is my 2014 Project 4 Awesome video about NaNoWriMo as an organization.

I also talked about them for Project 4 Awesome in 2013.

Thanks for checking out my collection of writing videos! I hope they’ve been helpful.
